Ms. Alethea Montgomery
Grade 5

My name is Mrs. Alethea Montgomery, I teach  5th grade Reading, spelling and Science.
I have taught K-5 Title One Reading, 1st grade, 4th grade, and 6th, 7th & 8th grade science in Cleveland, Duluth and Hermantown (and not at all in that order!) I have 3 children (2 in college and one just starting high school), I retired from the Air National Guard in 2013 and am a graduate of UMD and Hamline Universities. I hold both Ohio and Minnesota teaching license in k-5, 6-8 science and K-12 Reading.
I love to travel and I've lived in Denver Colorado, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Biloxi, Mississippi and Cleveland, Ohio.  I've climbed Angel's Landing in Zion park, part of the Grand Canyon (rim to rim is on my Bucket list), hiked a few miles of the Appalachian trail (it's on my bucket list to go back, too). I've been to Stonehenge,  walked through the catacombs of Paris, walked to the top of Notre Dame to see the gargoyles, hiked up Mt. Vesuvius (and threw a rock into the crater), toured the streets of Pompeii, traveled through London and the England countryside and had tea at Highclere castle (the filming location of Downton Abbey.)
But besides traveling and going on adventures, I love to spend time with my kids and my dogs. We love to hike, camp and explore the area.
