December 2012

Wow!  The end of another year is closing in on us, but we always have that new beginning to look forward to.

In English we have continued to work with nouns, both common and proper, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
Students should be able to write a complete sentence with proper punctuation.  We have also been doing some creative writing in which they have a beginning ,middle and ending.  Their story should begin with a topic sentence, have at least three details, and an ending sentence.

Please continue to practice spelling words weekly.  They should be bringing home a new list each Monday as they receive two lists, one for their desk and one to bring home.  Continue working on your cursive writing.  Try using proper shape, size, slant and form.

Read! Read! Read!  To become a better reader you must read.  Try the newspaper, magazines, comics, recipes and directions.
